Where does my money go? Who runs Unicorn Magazine? Who governs Unicorn Magazine? How can I support the mag without getting merch?
<\/strong>Unicorn magazine has no staff and overheads so all income goes towards the Unicorn Fund which is a pot of money split between writers and artists each issue. As the pot gets bigger, so will the split - so your purchase grows our support to some kick-ass queer creatives, and for most of them, this is their first gig.\u00a0<\/p>
<\/strong>Unicorn is run entirely by a team of volunteers who don\u2019t take a penny profit (we\u2019re a charity project). We just wanted to create a space for underrepresented queer voices and love helping them shine. With our volunteers we\u2019ve been able to tell the stories of people from over 20 countries around the world.<\/p>
<\/strong>Unicorn Magazine is a project by Bi Pride UK<\/a><\/u>, the only national charity (Registered Charity No.1177128)\u00a0 that champions the bi umbrella. Unicorn was created to counter the lack of bi representation in queer publications and remains governed by Bi Pride UK\u2019s trustees. Our values are the same. Bi Pride UK also have oversight of Unicorn\u2019s income and revenue to ensure it complies with charitable aims.<\/p>
<\/strong>We\u2019re working on a donation feature for Unicorn, but currently you can donate to Bi Pride UK to support the great work they do too. Or, we\u2019d love for you to shout about us to your mates!
